The Cooper Union Satellite Launch Initiative (CUSLI)

The CUSLI is a leading interdisciplinary student space science organization at Cooper Union, partnering with NASA, Columbia University, and more. Our focus is on innovative active thermal control using smart surface technology, where the satellite temperature in space is dynamically managed by altering its body color. This technology, with its broad applications, holds promise not only for space science but also for everyday life. Progress of payload and ground station design have already been made, and the Maroon and Gold labs will be an essential partner for us to strive forward. Our team ultimately aims to launch a cubesat, a very small satellite, into space.
